The uses and types of ball screw nuts

Ball screw nuts are nuts made of copper (usually lead brass, such as H59, H62). The copper nuts we come into contact with daily are mainly hexagonal nuts or other copper nuts that match bolts.

Because copper nuts have the advantages of being resistant to rust, corrosion-resistant, easy to conduct heat and have strong electrical conductivity, they are generally used in environments such as rust-proof, high-temperature, electrical and thermal conductors, such as faucets, valves, electrical switches, etc.

Another main use of copper nuts is injection molding. They are heated and embedded into plastic parts or directly injected into molds. As mentioned above, brass has good thermal conductivity. If a copper nut is heated and then embedded, on the one hand, the copper nut It can quickly heat up and speed up work efficiency. On the other hand, the heated copper nut can quickly conduct heat to the plastic part, thereby softening the periphery of the plastic hole, which is easier to press into the hole; then, if a mold is used for injection molding, the effect will be What if?

As we all know, the melting points of PA/NYLOY/PET are above 200°C. After the copper nut is heat-melted into the plastic part, the temperature quickly increases. After injection molding, the plastic body rapidly cools, crystallizes and hardens. If the temperature of the copper nut is still at a high temperature, The place where the copper nut contacts the plastic part develops looseness or cracks. Therefore, copper nuts are used instead of steel nuts in injection molding.

They can be divided into three categories according to their uses: machine screws, set screws and special purpose screws. Machine screws are mainly used to tighten parts with threaded holes. Screws are also a type of fastener consisting of a head and a screw. A fastening connection with a part with a through hole, which does not require a nut (this type of connection is called a screw connection and is also a detachable connection; it can also be used with a nut for two parts with a through hole) Fastening connections between parts. Set screws are mainly used to fix the relative position between two parts. Special-purpose screws such as eye screws are used for lifting parts. The shape is generally a flat hexagonal cylinder, and nuts: with There are internal threaded holes. There are also flat square cylinders or flat cylinders, which are used with bolts, studs or machine screws to fasten and connect two parts to make them a whole.
